was sworn in today at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Observatory National Volunteer, from January 2, 2011 that was renewed in its composition. The Centre, established under Article 12 of the "Framework Law on Volunteering (Act 266 of 1991), is chaired by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Maurizio Sacconi and is composed of ten representatives of organizations and associations volunteer working in at least six regions, two experts and three representatives of the organizations most representative trade union.
The body is involved, among other things, to implement activities for the European Year of Volunteering, which is celebrated this year with the objective of encouraging and support - notably through the exchange of experiences and good practices - the efforts of the European Union and its Member States, local and regional civil society to promote conditions conducive to the spread of the culture of volunteerism as a resource for the construction of common good.
In Italy the European Year of Volunteering was opened December 13, 2010, to mark the end of the European Year for Combating Poverty, just with the aim to emphasize the continuity between the ideal and practical initiatives, including through the relaunch campaign for the gift of loneliness and poverty. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, in qualità di organismo nazionale di coordinamento e di attuazione dei due programmi europei, aprirà ufficialmente il confronto a livello internazionale con una Conferenza europea in programma a Venezia il 1° aprile 2011.
